“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain

Why photograph? For me it's simply an extension of the natural impulse to explore the larger world.

Photography is a great self learning process that has no borders. It should be far more than the simple act of recording a lasting memory. In a way, it is about tempting our imagination to create an outer image. In essence, it is an art form and a way of expression. The wilderness is the perfect palate from which to draw inspiration with its ever-changing array of natural colours, textures, shape and life.

Travel on the other hand allows us to discover new places with new atmospheres, smells, tastes & sounds. It allows us to meet other people with different lives, opinions, experiences or customs, just to let us realise that nothing is just black and white, that there might be visible or hidden reason for everything people do and just because we don't understand something today it doesn't mean we won't understand it tomorrow.

Landscape & Travel photography is challenging, fascinating and absorbing, it changes constantly with the light, places, seasons and the weather. All of these elements make landscape & travel photography totally enthralling with each and every day offering something new.

My two-step program to take good photos:

1) Be at the right place at the right time by chance.
2) Be at the right place at the right time intentionally.

I always try to be at the right place at the right time, to capture those amazing colors that only last about 20 min twice a day. However I'm always thankful when I'm rewarded with some additional element that I didn't count on.

My philosophy is to take positive photographs highlighting the best a place has to offer, whether that is the vibrancy of the landscapes, the architectural grandeur of ancient monuments or modern architecture, the warmth and friendliness of the people or the magic of my favorite part of day - Twilight - the Blue hour.

The blue hour, coming from a "French expression "l'heure bleue," refers to twilight, the period each morning and evening where there is neither full daylight nor complete darkness. The time is considered special because of the quality of the light."

I enjoy capturing places in an eye-catching and colourful way; from the very old traditional or very modern places of the Middle East region to bustling backstreets of Asia to the spectacular cities of Europe. My collection of images focused primarily on low light scenes; from iconic travel destinations to lesser known places and the people who inhabit them.

Compositionally I aim for clarity and often simplicity to communicate my ideas and look for balance wherever possible. I seek out spectacular and vivid light to create a sense of wonder. Colour is a tonic to me and something I actively seek out.

The photographs on this site show all the success I have had with my images but none of the failures. For every sucessful trip where there has been good light there a 5 times as many that produce very little in the way of images. Landscape & travel photography is hard work and requires a significant amount of time and dedication.

Born in one of the most beautiful cities in the world - Prague, but as we all do, I took its beauties for granted and tried to find more beauties around the world.

My first trips took me to places where ancient civilizations left their mark such as India, Egypt and Middle East. Traveled as far as Mongolia, New Zealand or Alaska, always enjoying discovering new places and if lucky returning there too. I slowly but surely got used to it and travelled to over 80 countries ever since, finding home in different places of the world.

Wherever I went I always had a camera in hand, taking snapshots to document these experiences and explorations. Gradually, over time, a shift occurred and a curiosity crept in: How can I more fully capture the essence and feeling of being alive and engaged in the larger world? Through this simple question I have begun to acquire a knowledge concerning the art and process of making photographs.

My work was featured in many countries of the world, across countless book or CD covers, calendars, magazines such as Sunday Times, New York Times, Wanderlust, Lonely Planet, Outdoor Photography, Digital Photographer, What Digital Camera, East & West etc. It has flown around the world in airline magazines of Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Jazeera etc. It is frequently being used for website design to enhance visual appeal of internet presentation.

Kuwait, where I'm currently based, is my 4th place where I've lived, after earlier years spent in Prague, 5 years in Netherlands and a year in London.
Exploring Middle East always was and still is one of the things that I truly enjoy. Kuwait currently represents great base for such adventures.
